Biography

Biography

Hi, I’m Max. I’m an interdisciplinary researcher with an academic background in psychology, business administration and design. Before starting my PhD at Wageningen University & Research, I worked for 5.5 years as design researcher and project leader at the landscape/urban/architectural design office FABRICations. In this position I worked primarily on the larger scales (i.e., neighborhood, landscape, city, region, country), providing spatial planning and design consultancy to governments (i.e., ministries, provinces, municipalities) to realize transitions in agriculture, climate, energy and biodiversity.

With my PhD in Nature-Based Approaches for Climate-Robust, Sustainable and Productive Sandy-Soil Landscapes, I focus on the economic, legal and social factors that play a role in the drought transition of sandy-soil regions. My PhD is coordinated by the WIMEK graduate school and I am supervised by Andries Richter and Edwin Alblas from the ENR and Law groups. My PhD is part of the 'NAT' project and is funded by the NWO.

Besides my work I have always been very active in music and graphic design.
