Biography

My research investigates the economic impact of poultry diseases and the adoption and use of Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) technologies for animal health.

My current work focuses on Eimeria maxima and coccidiosis in fast- and slow-growing broilers in the Netherlands. I develop bio-economic models using Monte Carlo simulation to link infection dynamics with production and economic outcomes. My second research line evaluates within-cycle intervention strategies supported by an early-warning system acting as a biosensor, incorporating additional stochasticity to represent biological and production variability.

Alongside the quantitative modeling, I investigate farmers' adoption of PLF technologies through qualitative research, combining economic, behavioral, and technological perspectives.

My research interests include bio-economic modeling, epidemiology, animal health economics, PLF, technology adoption, and data-driven decision support.
