Biography
Marine ecologist with a PhD in North Sea elasmobranch ecology, combining field-based research, quantitative analysis, and science-policy communication. Conducted tagging research using Data Storage Tags (DSTs) to analyse daily and seasonal movements further understanding behavioural characteristics and habitat use. Also have experienced in a variety of research areas including diet analysis, life-history and maturity, DNA and stable isotope analysis, sedation techniques, blood sampling techniques, and elasmobranch ageing - currently classified as one of the few elasmobranch ageing experts in The Netherlands.
Owns a consulting business 'Greenway Consultancy' and experienced in collaborating with NGOs to translate ecological data into policy-relevant highlights, including contributions to conservation action planning. Strong background in marine biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and fisheries-related pressures. Committed to continuous learning and professional development with a genuine interest in the fishing industry.
