LAR Live 2026

This time we have the great honour to host Henk Ovink, former Special Envoy for International Water Affairs and current Senior Fellow at Wageningen University, and affiliated with the Global Commission on the Economics of Water, IWMI, UCL IIPP, RUG and Deltares.

He will give a lecture entitled: Just water cycle resiliency - by design: 
“The water cycle is a global common good, yet short-term economic and unjust practices - and their destructive valuation mechanisms - have destabilized this vital system. Design interventions in landscapes and cities can reinforce the resilience of the water cycle. At the same time a design process can also create a safe and just space for people and their institutions to come together, across divides and interests. Designing for a just water cycle can be a political act of provocation, especially for a resilient, future of the Netherlands.”
